Whether you like swimming, tennis or just a good workout in a gym during your study as an international student doing an intership, Berlin offers numerous opportunities to stay in shape.
In the area of sports Berlin also has a beautiful Olympic stadium called das Olympiastadion. Build in 1936 for the Olympic games it is now the site for sports events, concerts and conferences.
Football is extremely popular and the Hertha BSC football team plays at the Olympic Stadium, competing valiantly against other top German sides in the Bundesliga (First Division). German football was given a massive boost by the announcement that the country will stage the 2006 World Cup.
There is also no shortage of swimming pools in Berlin. Most of the gyms have pools, for those of you who enjoy swimming.
